Job Description
A Sterile Processing Technician plays a critical role in the sanitation and infection control efforts of ACRMC. There duties include sterilizing instruments and equipment, processing and maintaining inventory and fulfilling supply requests.
Responsibilities
- Prepares medical equipment and instruments for decontamination.
- Operates equipment to clean, disinfect and decontaminate surgical instruments, medical devices and equipment.
- Inspects instruments and equipment for signs of damage and wear and tear.
- Unpacks, checks and stocks new equipment, instruments and devices.
- Delivers equipment and supplies to all areas of the facility.
- Responds to emergency supplies to all areas of the facility.
- Responds to emergency supply request during surgical procedures.
- Maintains accurate records of when items undergo sterilization.
- Monitors temperature and humidity conditions within storage areas.
Requirements
- Must have graduated from high school; and one (1) year sterilization experience preferred.
- Certification preferred, but not required. Maintains current BLS.
