Job Description
Provides general nursing care to patients in hospital, nursing home, infirmary, or similar health care facility by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Collects all forms of assessment data relevant to patient’s condition
- Admission assessment reassessments within specified time frame
- Analyzed patient assessment data to formulate care plan
- Reassessment documentation includes changes in patient’s condition/response to treatment
- Assess educational needs and abuse/neglect for Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescents, Adult, and Geriatric patients
- Assess patient’s comfort/pain
- Assess nursing care administered by Aides
- Assesses patient according to fall and restraint protocols
- Establishes Interdisciplinary Plan of Care
- Prioritizes and documents patient problems based on assessed needs
- Changes plan of care based on reassessment
- Documents effectiveness of care/interventions
- Effectively communicates patient’s needs/problems to other disciplines
- Coordinates discharge/completes documentation at time of discharge
- Educates patient on pain management
- Provides safe medication administration
- Documents patient information in the EMR
- Knowledge of how to use and clean a Glucose Meter
- Adequately assesses wounds and educates patients/family members on wound care
- Able to pass the EKG monitor reading test
- Acquire ACLS certification within 1 year of employment and maintain certification as required
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred. At least 6 months to 1 year experience working as an RN in the Emergency Room
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Current CPR.
- ACLS, PALS certification within 12 months of employment.
