Job Description
Operates computerized tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist.
Responsibilities
- Performs assessments
- Produces quality images
- Assess patient/resident care needs
- Completes technical summary
- Provides pre/post-test education
- Provides procedure instructions
- Obtains feedback from patients
- Demonstrates sterile technique
- Calculates appropriate dosage
- Completes documentation on contrast media forms, consent and time out verification form
- Immediately reports adverse reactions and documents
- Monitors patients
- Knowledge of how to use protective devices
- Knowledge of how to use the Shimadzu Digital Fluoroscopy, United uCT 760, the Shimadzu RAD/Speed, OEC 9900
- Knowledge of how to send images from the Shimadzu Digital Fluoroscopy and CT to PACS
- Wears radiation badge, apron and or gloves as required
- Closes door during exposure
- Does not perform needless holds
- ALARA as low as possible
- Performs shielding for patients and Technologists
- Documents Fluoro times on exposure log
- Performs collimation
- Performs required QC on uCT 760 scanner per manufacture recommendations and completes documentation of results
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.
- Current Ohio Licensure with Ohio Department of Health; Registered by the American Registered Radiology Technologist Association.
