Job Summary: Plans and administers occupational therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.
- Assesses the patients physical, communication and cognitive skills to develop a treatment plan
- Gives advice and provides support for family members and care takers
- Assesses the home, school and work environments of the patient
- Helps children and adult patient to take part in everyday activities based on their unique circumstances
- Assists patient exercise for pain relief
- Reviews the patients progress and adapts treatment accordingly
- Records treatment, response, and progress in patient’s chart or enters information into computer
- Documents in a timely, accurate manner which supports medical necessity in accordance with department standards
- Submits required paperwork for billing, accurate charges and authorizations. Demonstrates appropriate use of time management according to departmental productivity standards
Education and/or Experience
Master’s degree (M. A.) or equivalent preferred; four to ten years related experience and/or training.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Ohio.
